Does Jesus Hate Bedside Manner?

bedside-manner1Imagine that you are sitting in the doctor’s office waiting to speak with him.  You’ve been having some very strange things happening.  You’ve had moments where you’ve lost motor skills completely.  You’ve had the complete loss of verbal skills for short periods of time.  You’ve awoken from sleeping and you’ve been unable to see.  You went to your doctor and he did a battery of tests.  He also brought in a few specialists to do some additional testing.  And now you are sitting in the doctor’s office awaiting the results.

Prayer Request

Hey Everyone-

Hoping to get some prayers lifted up.  Beginning today through next Friday, I am on writing leave from the fellowship so that I can write one book and compile another.  The book I am writing is called ‘Ahead of the Curve’ and it’s about Post Postmodernism.  The book I am compiling is called ‘Love Letters from your Heavenly Father’.  Pray for clarity, wisdom, and spiritual empowerment for the next few week.

Thanks everyone

Thoughts on Multi-Campus Churches/Video Pastors

wine-country-film-fest1For some reason, many folks have been asking me my thoughts about the multi-campus church movement, where you have a pastor teaching on a video screen and a campus pastor who cares for the people. Because I’m not into building up to a climax, let me say this, I don’t like it. Before I proceed, let me say this, before his own master, a servant stands or falls. If God is leading people this way, I’m no one to judge that. But by way of discussion, here are five reasons why I don’t prefer the set-up.

New Audio Online

Hey Everyone-

Just letting everyone know that I posted some new audio online.

All audio can be found  here.

As always our Sunday morning (Philippians) and Wednesday evening (Psalms) studies are available online for either streaming or mp3 download (all for free) or on iTunes via podcast.

I also just posted the short teaching I did at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary on ‘When People Leave’ a ministry practicum about everyday ministry topics.

I hope that you all enjoy them.

It’s been a crazy week… next week will be as well

crazySo last Saturday night, my hard drive on my MacBook crashed.  I had NEVER backed up anything on the computer in 15 months.  Except for my iPhone contacts and my iPod, everything else was gone.  You can pray that the data is retrievable.  There is a data recovery company in San Francisco (called appropriately Lazarus Data Recovery) that has the hard drive and are trying to recover the data.  I really don’t want to lose 15 months of sermon notes, research, pictures and life.  I had done enormous amounts of work on a new article for the Church Planting site called, “Passing the Baton” which was about handing off a ministry to a new pastor.  All gone.  Still hoping to get it back, or I’ll have to recreate it.

Welcome to my new blog site

If you’ve popped on by to visit, why not say hi and tell me about yourself.

A quick prayer request – The hard drive failed on my puter on Saturday night and it is presently at a Data Recovery place to try and pull my documents/research.  Please ask the Lord for mercy.  I would love to get that stuff back.

God bless
