Imagine that you are sitting in the doctor’s office waiting to speak with him. You’ve been having some very strange things happening. You’ve had moments where you’ve lost motor skills completely. You’ve had the complete loss of verbal skills for short periods of time. You’ve awoken from sleeping and you’ve been unable to see. You went to your doctor and he did a battery of tests. He also brought in a few specialists to do some additional testing. And now you are sitting in the doctor’s office awaiting the results.

For some reason, many folks have been asking me my thoughts about the multi-campus church movement, where you have a pastor teaching on a video screen and a campus pastor who cares for the people. Because I’m not into building up to a climax, let me say this, I don’t like it. Before I proceed, let me say this, before his own master, a servant stands or falls. If God is leading people this way, I’m no one to judge that. But by way of discussion, here are five reasons why I don’t prefer the set-up.
So last Saturday night, my hard drive on my MacBook crashed. I had NEVER backed up anything on the computer in 15 months. Except for my iPhone contacts and my iPod, everything else was gone. You can pray that the data is retrievable. There is a data recovery company in San Francisco (called appropriately Lazarus Data Recovery) that has the hard drive and are trying to recover the data. I really don’t want to lose 15 months of sermon notes, research, pictures and life. I had done enormous amounts of work on a new article for the Church Planting site called, “Passing the Baton” which was about handing off a ministry to a new pastor. All gone. Still hoping to get it back, or I’ll have to recreate it.
